Although located on opposite sides of the world, Norway and Australia share many similarities in that their economies are predominately resourced based and operating in an increasingly globalised world. This workshop features Norwegian and Australian researchers who are working on the issues that commodity cycles bring for commodity supplying countries. The workshop will bring together research on issues such as Dutch Disease, commodity prices and the role of liquidity in emerging and G3 markets, the transmission of foreign shocks to small open economies, as well as the role of China in commodity markets.

Speakers include Benjamin Wong (CAMA), Francesco Ravazzolo (Norges Bank, CAMP and CAMA), Joaquin Vespignani (University of Tasmania and CAMA), Jasmine Zheng (CAMA), Leif Anders Thorsrud (CAMP, visiting PhD scholar CAMA), Drago Bergholt (CAMP, visiting PhD scholar CAMA), Tim Robinson (Reserve Bank of Australia and CAMA), and Warwick McKibbin (CAMA).

This workshop is presented by Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) at Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University, and the Centre for Applied Macro- and Petroleum Economics (CAMP).
