The 2013 Southern Workshop in Macroeconomics (SWIM) sponsored by the Victoria University of Wellington, University of Auckland, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis will be hosted by the School of Economics and Finance at the Victoria University of Wellington on April 26-27, 2013.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Michael B. Devereux (University of British Columbia) and Professor Robert Kollmann (Universite Libre de Bruxelles) will participate in the Workshop as keynote speakers.

Interested scholars are invited to submit papers (or abstracts) as pdf attachments to swim@vuw.ac.nz.

The organizers invite submissions of papers in any area of macroeconomics that has a strong theoretical foundation. The aim of the workshop is to offer a forum for new developments in the field. Although the range of topics is open, we are particularly interested in papers that in the following areas: growth, productivity growth, 2008 financial crisis, government spending stimulus, fluctuations, search, monetary economics, taxation, open economy macroeconomics, and distributional effects.

The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2013. Decisions will be announced shortly afterwards.
