This workshop will bring together leading scholars to discuss the economic and geopolitical issues surrounding the fragmentation of the global economy.

In 2024, we are delighted to announce that the 11th annual workshop will be held jointly with the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE). The theme of the 2024 workshop will be “Global Geoeconomic Fragmentation”. The discussion is scheduled for a full day on 24 April 2024 in Washington DC under the Chatham House Rule. The workshop aims to inform the research of the organizing institutions, other research institutions such as the IMF and World Bank, and the individual scholars who participate. Each year, we have leading scholars and policymakers involved. We also invite participants from the private sector who contribute to research funding at ANU and PIIE.
