Speaker: Helder Lopes, Central Bank Governor of Timor-Le
Helder Lopes began his six-year tenure as the central bank governor of Timor-Leste in September 2023. Prior to this role, he served as the vice-minister of finance between 2015 and 2017, and was the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Finance between 2012 and 2015. He holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University.
The governor presented Timor-Leste’s economic development and key economic priorities across seven outlines: economic growth, inflation, employment, public finance, monetary sector, external sector, and policy priority.
