The 19th East Asian Economic Association (EAEA) International Conference

The 19th East Asian Economic Association (EAEA) International Conference will be held on 1-2 November 2024, hosted by the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand.

The theme of the international conference is “Globalisation and Resilience in Asia: Path to Innovation, Inclusiveness and Sustainable Development.”

Keynote Speakers

Haruhiko Kuroda: Former Governor of the Bank of Japan, Vice-Minister of Finance for international Affairs, the President of the Asian Development Bank (Tentative)

Veerathai Santiprabhob: Former Governor of the Bank of Thailand

Fuku Kimura: Chief Economist, ERIA, Jakarta and Professor, Faculty of Economics, Keio University

Albert Park: Chief Economist, Asian Development Bank (Tentative)

Shujiro Urata: Chairman, Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI)

Arsenio Balisacan: The Secretary of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), the Philippines

Sakon Varanyuwatana: Former Chairman, Trade Competition Commission of Thailand, and Former Dean of Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University

Muhammad Chatib Basri: Former Minister of Finance, Indonesia

Rupa Chanda: Director: Trade, Investment and Innovation, UNESCAP

The conference aims to bring together many distinguished researchers from Asia and beyond. Participants will find opportunities for presenting new research, exchanging information, and discussing current issues. Although we focus on Asia, all empirical papers relevant to the theme are highly encouraged.
