Creina Day

Creina Day is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. She founded and directs the ‘Growth, Demographics and Productivity’ research program and is an inaugural research associate of the ‘COVID-19 and the Macroeconomy’ program in the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA). Her reputation in the field of macroeconomics and economic growth has been established through seminal papers in leading international journals and recognised with the JG Crawford Award for best original paper.

Renée Fry-McKibbin

Renée Fry-McKibbin is a Professor of Economics in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University, and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. She directs three research programs in the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA). These are’ COVID-19 and the Macroeconomy’, ‘Finance and the Macroeconomy’ and ‘Commodities and the Macroeconomy.’ She holds the position of Research Associate in the Research Project in Forecasting at George Washington University as well as in the Norwegian Centre for Macroeconomic and Petroleum Analysis. She is a committee member for the UK Money, Macro and Finance Society, and a board member of the Australasian Macroeconomics Society. She is Co-editor of the Economic Record and Associate Editor of International Review of Economics and Finance, and Finance Research Letters.

Ippei Fujiwara

Ippei Fujiwara is Professor of Macroeconomics at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Fellow of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), research associate at the Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Japan director for Australia-Japan Research Centre (AJRC), and the deputy director at the Center for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA). He completed his DPhil in economics at the University of Oxford (Nuffield), and a PhD in Applied Economics at Osaka University. Professor Fujiwara worked for the Bank of Japan for 18 years before joining the Crawford School of Public Policy where his research has focused on international finance, monetary economics and macroeconomics. His recent publications are in Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Baking and Finance, Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Macroeconomic Dynamics and Theoretical Economics.

Timo Henckel

Timo Henckel is a Senior Lecturer of Economics and a Research Fellow in the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis. Timo is also Chair of the Reserve Bank of Australia Shadow Board, a group that aims to foster a lively and informed debate about Australian monetary policy and about macroeconomics more generally. Timo’s research spans the fields of behavioural economics, monetary economics, international macroeconomics, experimental economics, inequality, complexity and heterogeneity. He has theoretically, empirically and experimentally studied the determinants of bounded rationality and the effects of such behaviour on inflation and macroeconomic policy. Timo’s work has appeared in leading journals including Economics Letters, Oxford Economic Papers and Journal of Macroeconomics. He has also provided media commentary and written numerous policy briefs for various stakeholders including on: infrastructure policy for the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.; financial crises for the Sydney Institute; and, asset price bubbles for The Conversation.

Warwick McKibbin

Professor Warwick McKibbin, AO, FASSA is Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University (ANU). He is also Director of Policy Engagement, and ANU Node Leader, The ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR). He is an ANU Public Policy Fellow; a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences; a Distinguished Public Policy Fellow of the Economic Society of Australia; a Distinguished Fellow of the Asia and Pacific Policy Society; a non-resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C (where he is co-Director of the Climate and Energy Economics Project) and President of McKibbin Software Group Inc.

Tatsuyoshi Okimoto

Tatsuyoshi Okimoto is an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance at the Crawford School of Public Policy, visiting fellow at Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry, co-editor of Japanese Economic Review, and director for Nippon Finance Association. He received his PhD from the University of California, San Diego in 2005. He worked for Hitotsubashi University and Yokohama National University before joining the Crawford School of Public Policy.His current research has focused on Financial Econometrics, Empirical Finance, and Applied Macroeconomics. He has published a number of articles in the leading journals in economics and finance such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Money Credit and Banking. He has been awarded the 1st GPIF Finance Awards (2017), the 2015 Junko Maru Prize and 2014 Securities Analysts Journal Prize.
